Life 360 Emergency Bracelet Review

As a mom of young toddlers, I am always very concerned about taking them out in public. My kids are not the best listeners right now, and tend to run everywhere, making me extremely nervous about them getting lost. I recently had the opportunity to review some really neat products that could potentially put an end to a scary situation, if they were ever to get lost.

Life 360 is a really great website/company that provides all types of services to help you keep your children safe. The products I received to review are the Life 360 emergency ID bracelets. These cute little velcro bracelets contain a concealed slot which holds vital information about your child, in case of emergency. With the Life360 system, you go online and create an account, entering all of the important medical information (ie diabetes, allergies, blood type) about your child, as well as your contact information. There is an ID number on the bracelet as well as a phone number of the company, so whoever finds your child can get in touch with you without actually getting your number. You can of course, put any information you want to inside the bracelet so that medical professionals will have access to it as well. If your child is found, the person all an either go to the website or all the 800 number, and you will be notified immediately.

While these bracelets will certainly help ensure my kids safety in ase of an emergency, I love the little extra peace of mind that they afford me as well. I will say that my kids are at an age where they like to play with the bracelets, but one they get used to having it on, they leave it alone. We use them at the park, when we go to theme parks, (like Disney)- pretty much anytime we go out in public!

I was also quite intrigued at the other products offered by Life360- GPS tracking, sex offender reports on your area, and emergency messaging just to name a few. With their gps tracking system, you can have the peace of mind of always knowing where your child is when you aren't together! You can download the free Life360 app for your android or Iphone, and instantly see your family members locations on a real-time map. Pretty cool. Being a kid is definitely not the same anymore as it was when we were young, and I am glad to know that at least we have the technology to combat the scary situations!

Welcome to the kick-off day for the Second Annual Blog For A Cure Blog Party! I am so excited to be organizing this event for the second year in a row, and I am honored that each of you has taken the time to stop by today and see what this is all about. I'm going to get right to it, then, and tell you what this is all about.

I started this event last year, when I initially signed on as a volunteer for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I did so because I have dear family members that were (and still are) battling cancer, and I wanted to do something to to help. I am not a doctor, a scientist, or a millionaire who can directly effect their situation, but I am one of many people who care. You are most likely here today because you care too.

Cancer is a stealthy, deadly enemy that claims victims young and old, every single day. No one is immune. Advances in treatment made possible by extensive research have greatly increased survival rates, and we need to keep this research funded so that trend can continue. This is the mission of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and this week, it is the mission of the Blog For A Cure Blog Party. Last year the blog party helped me raise almost 1,000 dollars in a single week. This year, my goal is $1,700.00. By donating what you can (even as little as ONE dollar), and spreading the word about this event on your own blogs, we can make this goal a reality. Are you ready to make a difference? The Blog For A Cure Blog Party is really quite simple, and you will be rewarded for your participation will some amazing prizes, the opportunity to connect with new bloggers, gain new followers for your blog, and of course, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you have made a difference in the lives of those who are touched by cancer.

Why I Love Shutterfly

There was a time in my life that I considered myself crafty. I liked to paint, make wreaths, jewelry, and even dabbled in a little scrapbooking.

Then came triplets. My crafty days are officially on hiatus until kindergarten, and the scrapbooking was the first thing to go! Ironically, the amount of pictures that I take has increased by about 27,000%, and my photo storage needs have skyrocketed. Announcing the Second Annual Blog For A Cure Blog Party!

I am getting really excited for my Blog For A Cure fundraiser this year! If you haven't been by in a while, (say, since last year's blog party), you are going to want to mark down these dates! I have secured some really amazing prizes to give away to the participants of my Blog For A Cure Blog Party, and just like last year, the only requirement to be entered into EVERY single giveaway, is ONE dollar. That's it. Extra entries can be earned for each additional dollar donated. Something new that I am adding this year, are automatic prizes for those who donate at least $25 or $50 dollars. In January 2011, I will run a half marathon as a part of the Team In Training program with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The race is symbolic. It's going to be a challenge and a lot of fun but really, it's the least I can do to show my support. If you or someone you know has been touched by cancer, I know that you understand why this is important, and you understand why every dollar donated DOES make a difference.

CSN Review: Real Projects Workshop Play Center by Step2

I recently was given another opportunity to review a product from CSN Stores, and this time I chose the Real Projects Work Play Center by Step2! I had a ridiculously hard time figuring out what to order, as CSN stores pretty much have every product I could ever dream about owning. There are housewares, furniture, window treatments, shoes, bedding, wall art... but as usual, I am a sucker for a cool toy for my kids. I am a big fan of all things Step2, and this toy looked like something all three of my kids would enjoy.

It came in a few pieces, but didn't take more than 20 minutes to assemble. Included are a toy drill, saw, and screwdriver, as well as a multitude of foam "wood" pieces which can be assembled into about 20 different projects! There are also large plastic screws which fit into slots in the workbench itself, as well as the foam pieces. This gives the kids a good opportunity to improve their fine motor skills just by playing and being creative- I like that.

They really enjoy building things with the foam blocks. Lily wanted to make a castle, Cameron wanted to make a fire truck, and Ben wanted to make a blue truck:)

Of course, the power drill is always a hit:

The structure of the toy seems very sturdy- unfortunately it does encourage climbing! But really, what fun toy doesn't? I do like that the structure itself contains a place to hold all of the little foam pieces; it has a little pull-out drawer which can contain them. It's always nice to be able to keep everything together!

Product review: Italtrike Classic Tricycle

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a great company, which offered me the opportunity to review one of their products for free! I perused their great website, All Modern Baby, and let me tell you, I had a hard time picking something to review because I pretty much wanted EVERYTHING I saw. They really do have an awesome selection of toys, furniture, and decor on their site!

I settled on the Classic 10" Italtrike tricycle- look how cute it is!

It arrived within 5 days of ordering, and was really quite easy to put together. There weren't 79,000 pieces to screw together so it took less than 1/2 hour.

It really is the quintessential classic tricycle- red, metal, old school. I was a little nervous about it being metal, but we haven't had any injuries related to that. My kids can't quite pedal it yet, but it IS a good height for them, because their feet reach the pedals, but not the ground. Therefore, if they want to move, they have to pedal, which is helping them learn. Of course, they may get a push from a sibling from time to time too:)
The seats have 3 positions that you can easily adjust as they grow, so they will be able to use it for a while. It definitely seems like a product that will hold up for a while too.

So, now we just need two more:) I can't wait to see all three of my kiddos riding around on their tricycles! I would definitely recommend this tricycle to anyone who is looking for one. These are 69.00 right now on AllModern Baby, with free shipping as well right now!

If you are just joining us, you are not too late! Please click here to get the full details on how to participate! The Blog For A Cure Blog Party is open to anyone, whether you are a blogger or not! All you need to do is donate at least $1.00 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and you are eligible to win 23 prizes, and link up to our "Follow Me" Linky, where you can meet new bloggers, and find new followers!

All of the giveaways are now up and running, and will remain open to new entries until Saturday, at 5 pm EST. The list of giveaways is on the top of the sidebar on the right, be sure to check them all out, but make sure you have made a donation first or your entry will not count!

I will be doublechecking all the donations and contest entries, and doing the drawings for the prizes the old fashioned way! Please make sure your number of "extra entries" matches the number of dollars you donated! If your blog username and the name on your donation do not match, please email me at lanik58@yahoo.com, and give me both of these names so that I can verify your donations. If you aren't sure, just email me just in case! You can leave a comment here, but if you would rather tell me in private, email it!

Blog For A Cure Starts Today!

Welcome to Blog For A Cure, a blog party that will connect new bloggers from all walks of life, while offering up some great prizes, and most importantly, raising money to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Before I explain how it all works, I want to tell you what this is all about. I will keep it brief because there is a lot to go over, but I think if you know the reason that I have spent the last few weeks glued to my computer, looking for prize sponsors and personally inviting people, one by one, to participate in this event.

A beloved family member of mine was recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. She is a young, healthy mom with a beautiful daughter, and her life, as well as her entire family's life, has been completely turned upside down by this aggressive and devastating disease. I can't imagine what it must feel like to fight for your life, can you?

There is nothing I can do to directly help her situation, but what I can do is use my time and energy to help raise money to fund the lifesaving research that has caused the survival rates to continually rise in the last few decades. I am a stay at home mom of 22 month old triplets, and I don't exactly have a lot of resources, so I have chosen to participate in Team In Training, a program in which I will raise money, while training for my FIRST marathon. I am calling on all of you, to help me raise the money that I need (a minimum of 2,400.00).

I know times are tough. Believe me, I know. That's why the minumum donation to participate is only $1.00! If you are able to donate more, please do so, and accept my extremely heartfelt gratitude.

And what will you get in return for this dollar, you ask?

1- The opportunity to gain new followers for your blog.

On Monday, Sept 28- Friday, Oct 2, 2009, Who Knew? Reviews will be hosting the first Annual Blog For A Cure, which is a new way to use social media to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, while making new connections and broadening our social media network.
Blood cancers are an aggressive and stealthy enemy. They can and will strike people of all ages, health status, ethnicity, and sex unless we rally together and support the research that is needed to treat and prevent them. I have organized this campaign in honor of a dear family member and fellow young mom who has recently been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and is now fighting for her life. I am sure that each and every one of us can say we know someone who has been affected by these devastating, indiscriminate diseases. Together, we can use our most accessible resource, the internet, to help fight the battle.

It’s pretty simple:

On September 28th, head over to Who Knew? Reviews, and click on the button to donate $1.00 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. If you can donate more, please do so, but the minimum to participate is $1.00.This will earn you one entry into each giveaway that you comment on. If you would like more entries for a particular item, each extra dollar will earn an additional entry.

Then, sign in to Mr. Linky which will be active on the blog at midnight, Sept. 25th. Cruise the list of other participants, visiting a minimum of 5 blogs.
